Cincinnati, OH

Cincinnati, OH June 26th We headed down to Cincinnati for the day/night to catch the Indians/Reds game that night as well as explore some of the city during the day. This was John's birthday present from me so it was really up to him what we did. We stopped down just north of downtown Cincinnati at a computer superstore so John could buy some things that he needed. As anyone that knows John he was in heaven the entire time we were there. Before we headed into the city we ate breakfast at Ihop since we don't have one closer to us. After that we headed into downtown. We decided to head over into Kentucky and go to Newport since it is one of our favorite areas. We headed specifically to Newport on the Levee ( http://www.newportonthelevee.com/ ) since we have enjoyed our time there before. We opted to not do the aquarium since we had just went last September and nothing changed. We had a nice few hours of walking around the shops outside and inside as well as just pe...

Columbus, OH

Columbus, OH   March 5-7, 2010 This is about the trip John and I took over to Columbus to meet my dad and Erin for the weekend at the Arnold Classic. As you can tell I am very behind in writing about it. So here it goes.. We drove in from Dayton on Friday afternoon/evening and headed for the hotel we were staying at. We stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Columbus - Downtown ( http://www.hamptoninn.com/en/hp/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=CMHHSHX ). The hotel was in the perfect place for attending the Arnold Classic since it is across the street from the Columbus convention center. The hotel itself was very nice and comfortable. The room we had was just a standard room with two queen sized beds along with a TV and dresses. For the amount I paid it was a very nice room to come back and relax in after a long day.  The pool and hot tub was just a great feature to have. The only downside I had in this area was that the pool water was freezing. You really could not en...

NCL Pearl

NCL Pearl January 16th - 23rd   This was our first cruise aboard the Pearl and Norwegian. The Pearl has 16 dining options, 13 bars and lounges, a casino, bowling alley, spa, pools, and a fitness center. The pearl also features a rock wall on the back of the ship as well as two walking/running tracks. It also offers many entertainment options like Second City comedy troupe, Broadway style shows and Nintendo Wii on a 2-story screen just to name a few. We honestly did not do much on the cruise ship as none of it really was interesting to us. The one thing we did was see a show by Second City and I have to say that they were amazing! It was a different type of comedy then I was use to seeing. I would definitely recommend checking out Second City if you have the chance. We spend a lot of time outside at night relaxing on a nice big comfy chair watching the sun set. We also walked around and saw almost every part of the ship. We did eat dinner one night at La Cu...

Great Stirrup Cay The Bahamas January  22, 2010 Our fourth stop was at Norwegians private island in the Bahamas called Great Stirrup Cay. There was no shore excursions that really interested us at this stop so we choose to just hang out on the beach and enjoy the nice surroundings.  Joh

St. Thomas, USVI

St. Thomas, USVI NCL Pearl January 20, 2010 The third stop on our cruise was to St. Thomas, USVI. Our shore excursion was the Castaway Girl Barefoot Sail & Snorkel. When we got into St. Tomas we docked and were able to get off the ship at our leisure. We of course were one of the first groups of people off the ship and were able to walk up and down the dock to take in the views around us. We had a more difficult time finding where we were suppose to go because nobody had signs that showed our tour name. After searching for a few minutes we were able to find a girl with the tour company who took our tickets and told us where to meet the crew of the Castaway Girl.   Views of St. Thomas from the dock. After waiting on the dock for awhile we started to see more people that were taking the trip with us and eventually we saw our boat coming into the harbor.   Castaway Girl II We were met by one of the crew men named Tim who showed us to the boa...
