St. Thomas, USVI

St. Thomas, USVI NCL Pearl January 20, 2010 The third stop on our cruise was to St. Thomas, USVI. Our shore excursion was the Castaway Girl Barefoot Sail & Snorkel. When we got into St. Tomas we docked and were able to get off the ship at our leisure. We of course were one of the first groups of people off the ship and were able to walk up and down the dock to take in the views around us. We had a more difficult time finding where we were suppose to go because nobody had signs that showed our tour name. After searching for a few minutes we were able to find a girl with the tour company who took our tickets and told us where to meet the crew of the Castaway Girl.   Views of St. Thomas from the dock. After waiting on the dock for awhile we started to see more people that were taking the trip with us and eventually we saw our boat coming into the harbor.   Castaway Girl II We were met by one of the crew men named Tim who showed us to the boa...

Tortola, British Virgin Island NCL Pearl January  19, 2010 Our second stop was to Tortola, British Virgin Island. For our shore excursion we did the Virgin Gorda Baths & Snorkel. When we docked in Tortola we were able to get off the ship whenever we wanted. You just had to be at the meeting place on your ticket by a certain time. We were again one of the first groups of people off the ship and onto the dock. Once we were there we just walked down the dock and found the boat we needed to get on. Once on the boat the crew walked around and asked our shoe size to give us snorkeling equipment. When everyone was on the boat and ready to do we set off for Virgin Gorda which was about a 15 minute ride.   Me on the boat before we left Tortola, BVI It was quite a nice boat ride out to Virgin Gorda as we passed the other BVI islands and tons of other boats. Once we got to Virgin Gorda the crew gave us some instructions then let us jump into the water to start sno...

Samana, Dominican Republic

Samana, Dominican Republic Abroad NCL Pearl January 18th This was part of our honeymoon trip in January. We didn't specifically go to Samana, but we were right across the waterway from it so I will be writing about Cayo Levenado. Samana was our first stop of four abroad the NCL Pearl. We choose to do this shore excursion mostly due to the fact that Samana is very undeveloped and didn't have much that interested us. Our day started off with us waiting for our group to be called so we could tender directly off the cruise ship to smaller boats to take us to the island. I thought the wait was going to be longer but it turned out to go much faster then I thought. When we got to the boat to tender there were two men helping people into the boats and then off we were!   Cayo Levantado from boats When you first arrive on the island you are greeted by some people who give you a map of the island. Then you walk along the path through the little "shopping...

A New Journey

Image
Well as my title implies I am at a new point in life. My husband and I got married August 29, 2009 and have started a new life together as husband and wife. With this new point in life I have decided to start a blog about our life together along with one of my favorite things TRAVELING! I love to travel and unfortunately didn't get to do much in the last few years because of college and John really didn't travel at all growing up so we are taking the time and starting to travel since we both love it. This blog probably isn't going to be all about traveling but most of it will. We have already started traveling prior to getting married but now we are focusing on it more since we aren't in school any longer and can officially start taking weekend trips since we don't work. We wanted to just share this blog with anyone who is interested along with our families and friends. Hopefully you will enjoy reading about our travels and other things that may pop up in this blog!
