Pro Football Hall of Fame Half Marathon Recap!

Pro Football Hall of Fame Half Marathon Recap!! Well I did it!!! I finished my first half marathon two weekends ago. I still can't believe it.  After three months of training all the work I put in helped me finish that day. It has taken me a little while to figure out exactly how I feel about this whole process or I would have wrote this sooner. I am trying to get better at blogging and going back to what I originally started this for, which is just to share my life with family who lives afar and friends. With that being said, I challenged myself this year to try new things and say yes more. I wanted to do 30 things in my 30th year, but I have had a hard time coming up with enough ideas. After suffering from postpartum depression last year I felt very much lost and still do. Other then a mother and wife I really didn't know what else I was so this lead to my quest to try new things and experience life a little more. Mostly I wanted to focus a little on myself so I could fe...

SLS3 Neon Running Sock Review

Image
I've been running more this year then any other time in my life and I have been on the lookout for great, affordable gear. Running socks are something I've been having trouble finding. I either find ones I like, but not in my price point or I find ones that are in my price point and they are terrible. Enter these Neon Running socks by SLS3. I've worn these a handful of times when running and I have to say I am really impressed. So here is what I like about them: They are really comfortable. Light-weight, which is great for hot summer runs. They fit as described. I love the bright neon colors. Some things I don't like: The ankle part of the sock is tighter then I would like. They are a bit pricey then I would like. I really do not have anything negative to say about them. The quality has held up really well with wearing and washing them. I think the only thing that could be a problem is that because they are light-weight, you would need heavier...

Level Up Virtual Runs: The Runner Awakens Recap!

Image
Hello everyone! It's been awhile since I've had the time to sit down and write a little. My babies are keeping me busy lately, but I wanted to give everyone an update on the 5K I ran back in February. If you read my previous post then you know it was The Runner Awakens Run that I participated in. If you didn't read the first post, click here . This was my first time using Level Up Virtual Runs and it won't be the last. The process to register was very simple and straightforward. There price point is also really great. As a stay-at-home mom I cannot afford a lot of races because they can get pricey. This race was $25 for the 5K and then increased by $5 for every distance up until the Half-Marathon. I ended up running with my local Moms Run This Town chapter on one of the Saturday runs, which kept me very motivated to keep going. It was also nice to be without the kids for a bit and with my friends. I wasn't really happy with my time, but I did just have another b...

Health and Fitness during this Pregnancy!

Image
If you've been following my health and fitness journey the last two and a half years then you will know that I have completely changed my lifestyle as well as my families. We are eating at home more, experimenting with new foods and recipes, watching our portions, cut back on sweets, and most importantly added exercise into our daily lives!!! This is a huge step for not only me, but my husband too. We went from being active during college to working full-time and letting our health go down the drain. After we welcomed L to our world, I knew that I wanted to be healthier for her. I wanted her to see that being active and eating a balanced diet is the right way to live. I wanted to show her how to care for her body and never feel like I did for years. Growing up I didn't really have any positive body roles models and I didn't want that for L. I wanted her to feel confident that nobody her body size, as long as she was healthy and active then she was just the way God inten...
