Best/Worst Baby Products

Now that Lexi is older I’ve been asked a lot lately about what products I found useful during the first six months. There are tons of products that were useful to me for many different reasons, but that would take too long to explain. I’ve decided that I would write a list of the five products I found most useful and the five products I found to be a waste of not only space but money. Just be warned my five best and worst may not be what works for every baby, but that worked for us. Five Best Products: 1.       Bouncer: The bouncer we had was a life-saver. We were determined to not hold her all the time, but needed a safe place to put her when we were not sitting on the couch so this fit the bill. Not only did it work for us but Lexi loved the vibrating. It put her to sleep for the first few months and then became a great toy for her to explore. She loved the music, sounds, and bright colors. Once she could reach the toys she had tons of fun hittin...

Do you want to be a Maven??

Image
So your probably thinking what exactly is a Maven? Well it's this awesome website that I found called Julep, that gives you a monthly beauty box full of the hottest new and cutting-edge beauty products. I signed up in March and received my first box full of goodies. My style profile was Bombshell. In the box I received Eva and Ginger nail polishes along with an instant warming foot scrub . The colors are just as great in person as the photos. As soon as I update my nail color I'll share a picture with you all since these are the next colors I plan on using. The instant warming foot scrub is now one of my favorite products. It makes your feet nice and smooth, which is perfect for this time of year. Are you interested yet??? Well if you are go to Julep and sign up! Take your style quiz and order your first box!! I used the coupon code PENNY to get my box for $.01!!

Organizing Help - Small Linen Closet

Image
Do you have small closet's throughout your home? I know I do and I have found it really hard to keep everything organized. I've tried numerous ways and it always seems to get messy again in a few weeks. Well I've been on a quest to find a solution for my family that would keep everything in our hall closet neat and organized. At last, I can say I finally found a system that works for me! I got me inspiration from the blog Racqel English and just adapted to my needs. She stores her medicine in a kitchen cabinet with little plastic drawers. I had some clear shoe containers laying around that I used since we store our medicine in the hallway closet. You could pretty much use any type of clear, plastic containers you want. I also had the colored tags laying around the house from other projects. I wish I had a before picture to show just how terrible my hall closet looked but I forgot to take one. The first thing I did was empty everything out of the closet into my extra la...

Good Intentions

Long time, no post? Correct. I made a resolution to start writing more frequently at the beginning of the year and unfortunately that did not happen. My beginning of the year was a bit more hectic than I originally thought it was. I could share a list of many , many reasons of why I was so busy but I think a picture would work better. That is righ t. I gave bi rt h to my beautifu l, baby girl on December 12, 20 12. Lexi Carolyne Aub rey made her a rrival four days before my due d ate. I ass umed wrongly, like a first-t ime mo m would that I would have quite a bit of free time since she sleep most of the day. Boy was I wrong . Even though she slept a lot I did not realize just how tired I wo uld b e, so all my great big pl ans for the new yea r just d id not happen. So now I have decided to just blog as much as I can whenever I can. I want to expand my blog from just travel related things to all the new things I've e xperi enced since I became a mother.  Along with mom/...

Weekend Trip for Kenny Chesney..Oh and baseball bats..

Image
Louisville, KY; Evansville, IN; & Kenny Chesney!! August 6-8, 2011 This originally started out as a trip to see Kenny Chesney in Evansville, IN because he added a last minute show and then it proceeded to include a stop in Louisville, KY because we were already driving through. In Louisville the main thing John wanted to do was check out the Louisville Slugger Museum because he is a huge baseball fan. The museum for me was just so-so. I do not really care for baseball so it was kinda boring. John was in heaven and loved every minute. I thought the museum was too small and the tour was too short for the price of the museum. It was definitely a cool experience and I think if we had children it would have been more enjoyable. After the museum we went to find our hotel, which was about 10 minutes or so from downtown Louisville. We stayed at the Hyatt Place Louisville East . The hotel was so nice and mode...

St. Maarten/St. Martin

Image
St. Maarten/St. Martin March 12, 2011 Our last port was St. Maarten. It was a sad day because we did not want our trip to end but we were really excited about this island. Our excursion was a beach day to St. Martin! Both islands are gorgeous and the bus ride to Orient Beach gave us some great views. It also allowed us to learn about both islands.  Once we were to Orient Beach we were shown to a section of beach chairs in front of a restaurant that were ours for the day. We were then left to our own desire for about three or four hours to do whatever. We ended up playing in the water a lot because the ocean was so calm. We also walked the beach, which featured other resorts and some private condo's. The excursion featured a free lunch, which I cannot remember the type of food at all but it was good from what I remembered.  The views were spectacular and it was a great end to one of our dream vacations. On the way back your were able to see more of both islands. They...
