31 Days 2013: Relaxing

I've been very uninspired to write the last few days and didn't want to force something out. Over the weekend I got an email from Creative With Kids a blog I follow and her topic and prompt questions got me thinking. It was all about relaxing and how her focusing on getting things done robs her from relaxing. It got me thinking because I feel the same way most days. I don't always feel I get time to relax or even can enjoy the little things in like. For the most part I've been really good at keeping myself in the moment but the last few days I've felt rushed and like I was on a constant to-do list. Before I had Lexi relaxing for me was curling up with a good book, watching one of the shows I enjoy, and messing around on the Internet. I still get to do those things I just have to pick and choose, which ones are more important and make time for it. I used to watch a lot of TV and now I pick and choose, which shows are important to me to keep up with. I also DVR mos...

31 Days 2013 - Crafting!!

Image
I finally got a night to start and even better finish crafting!!! Lexi is going to be a Bumblebee for Halloween and it came with this hat that has antennas on it. Well Lexi's head is way too big for it. So with the help of Pinterest I found a way to make my own from a blog I follow called Living Well Spending Less . She is amazing and has really great recipes, crafts, and tips. After stopping by Jo-Ann Fabrics to pick up my supplies this was very easy to make. Here is what you'll need to get started: Black Elastic Headband Pipe Cleaners Pom Poms Hot Glue Gun I couldn't find black elastic headband so I bought black elastic necklaces instead.  The first thing I did was make sure the black elastic fit her head. Once that was done I wrap one black pipe cleaner in half around the elastic headband. I did the same thing about 3 inches or so from the first one so I had two antennas. At the very top I folded the ends down so they stayed together. After that I took my hot ...

31 Days 2013: Regrets

I've always said that I have no regrets in my life and for the most part I don't. At the time all the decisions I made were what I thought was best for me. Now looking back I don't think I have regrets but definitely places where I would have liked to do something different. There not many big changes but a few small ones that really changed the way my life was going. It's easy to say now that I would do things different because I see how that particular path turned out and obviously do not like how it turned out. I guess I just wish that I had more guidance in my life on certain areas so I know that what I am doing is the best decision. One are of my life that I wish I had more knowledge is money. Money as in bills, credit cards, etc. are things that parents do not seem to discuss with their children. This leads to making poor choices, which I definitely have in the past. I think we need to open this topic up for discussion at home to make sure our children do ...

31 Days 2013: Interviews

I've been on a few interviews recently and have had a whole bunch of phone interviews along with them. Interviews freak me out. I am not one of those people that get excited or even remotely interested in talking about me especially since I have very little professional experience. Today's interview was rather strange for me though. I've had a group interview with other candidates but never an interview with three people from the company. I felt it was rather awkward and I still cannot figure out why they did it this way other than what they told me, which was it gave them three different perspectives. I was so nervous and completely out of my element just because the whole interview seemed very stiff and robotic almost. They had a packet of question and each asked one without any personality. To me that just make me feel like the company has no personality and is just stiff and boring.  Anyways my whole point for today is that I am trying to take the advice of two ...

31 Days 2013: Weight Loss!!!

Today has been an awesome day from start to finish!! Things just seem to falling in place and that makes me very happy as well as way less stressed. The best news of the day is that I lost more weight!!!! For those that were not aware I have been actively trying to lost weight since after I had Lexi. Well I lost the 25lbs of baby weight I gained in April, but wanted to lose more. So from that point on I started really focusing on losing weight. It already helped that I stopped having Starbucks multiple times a month and sometimes a week as well as pretty much stopped eating out. At home I focused more on healthier menu options as well as potion control. I also started tracking my food with MyFitnessPal . I truly believe those three things helped me continue losing weight because all I did for working out was walk. I would say around August/September was when I started adding more exercising into the mix. I focused on things I could do at home with the baby so it wouldn't ta...

31 Days 2013 - Do You Ever Feel Like A Bad Friend??

Do you ever feel like a bad friend?? I sure do most of the time. I am so busy with Lexi that I feel as I don't keep up enough with what is going on in their lives. I also always tell people if they need anything I can help them but they always seem to ask at the worse times possible. Truthfully lately they've wanted help with things I don't want to help them with. I seriously feel like the worst person in the world for even thinking that let alone writing it down. I always offer help and that is part of the people pleaser in me. I know that I need to find a happy medium in my quest to help others.  So my question for anyone who actually reads these post and wants to comment: Do you ever feel like a bad friend? If so, what do you do about it? Do you help anyways even if it something you really don't want to help with? Do you tell them the completely truth, that this is one of those things you don't want to help them with?  I feel like I would be a worse friend if...

31 Days 2013 - The First Step

I've been thinking about all the things I've written and read since beginning this journey and unfortunately I can't seem to come up with a place to start. I believe that I may just have to jump in and see what happens. One thing I wish I did more of was to be creative whether it has to do with cooking, baking, or crafting I just don't get to do it enough. I always seem to make excuses for it to like I'm too busy with the baby and I don't have time. I believe that I just need to jump in and make time for it. I hate to schedule things like this, but maybe I need to so that way I take it seriously. This could be a good thing for my husband too because then I have dedicated time that he knows he has to take care of Lexi.  To start this I am going to work on making sure to try a new recipe at least once a month, but twice would be nice. I also am going to try and carved out time weekly to make sure I finish Lexi's scrapbook before her first birthday.  Manda ...
